Adult Learners Week

Monday 11thEvent: Open Day Venue: Tonyrefail Leisure Centre Time: 9.00am - 6.00pm Activities: 9.00am - 11.am, Waxing and Nail Care, 11.00am - 1.00pm Reflexology, 3.00pm - 4.00pm Line Dancing, 4.00pm - 5.00pm Salsa, 5.00pm - 6.00pm Tribal Aeorbics. Advice will also be available from a number of organisations inculding; Careers Wales, Coleg Morgannwg, E3+, A4E, BTCV, Tonyrefail Communities 1st, Gilfach Goch Community Association, Interlink, Want 2 Work, Capel Farm Resource Centre.
Tuesday 12thEvent: Food Hygiene Training Venue: Tonyrefail Leisure Centre Time: 10.00am - 4.00pm Activity: Training in all aspects of food hygiene, on completion of the course participants will obtain a certificate of achievement which is valid for three years.
Wednesday 13thEvent: Introduction to Computers Event: Arts & Crafts Venue: Capel Farm Resource Centre Venue: Coed Ely Comm Centre Time: 3.30pm - 4.30pm Time: 10.00am - Noon Activity: All you want to know about getting started with computing. Activity: Introduction to Art by U3A

Saturday 16thEvent: Heart Start Venue: Pritchard Street Community Centre Time: 10.00am - Noon Activity: Learn emergency CPR.

If so, come and have a chat with us and maybe we can give you the opportunity to discover hidden skills! You don't want to be tied down. Volunteering is flexible and can be tailored to your availablility. You are not sure what to expect. As part of the volunteering scheme you will receive an induction to the work of Communities 1st and regular support sessions. Why not ask a member of staff for further details about this volunteering scheme or one of the many other volunteering projects available in Tonyrefail? Get Cooking
"Get Cooking" seeks to introduce practical skills that offer an alternitive to processed and convenience foods that are so popular today. Using the trainer guide and recipe booklet provided, group leaders help participants to prepare and cook a two course meal each week. At the end of each session, the group shares and enjoys the food prepaired to celebrate everyone's collective achivements. First Aid Course
There are a number of Training courses put on in Tonyrefail and surrounding area by Communities First. Should you be interested in a short course, please get in touch and we will see if we can find the interest in the local community to put it on. Last year we put on First Aid, Extending Exercise Classes, Manual Handling, Risk Awareness and Health and Safety.
